The Union Label & Service Trades Department,
AFL-CIO uses publicity, advertising, educational campaigns and organizing
to:
- Increase consumer awareness of and demand for union-made
products and services,
- Promote widespread use of the Union Label, Union
Store Cards and Union Service Buttons,
- Build support for AFL-CIO endorsed boycotts, and
- Build public understanding of the goals of the trade
union movement and unionisms importance to the economic and social
health of our communities.
One of our main activities is the AFL-CIO Union-Industries
Show an annual trade fair featuring skills demonstrations
and exhibits of union-made goods and services. Show (in operation since
1938) is open to the public, free-of-charge.
